Your starting prompt.

Calculate our cash runway from [date] under base, slower-sales and reduced-spend scenarios. Use actual cash receipts and payments to establish a starting burn rate, then apply the supplied hiring and financing assumptions. Show monthly ending cash, the minimum cash point and the date each scenario reaches [cash floor]. Separate confirmed cash flows from assumptions and exclude restricted cash from available funds.

Copy this starting point, then replace the placeholders with your own inputs.

Method and review

Keep the assumptions visible.

Start with opening cash and dated receipts and payments. Separate recorded cash movements from forecasts, and show which assumptions change the result.

For this task, check

Runway depends on collection timing and excludes financing that has not been explicitly assumed.

Synthetic illustrative example

Synthetic input. Illustrative output checked locally; this is not a live Proforma run or customer result. Starting unrestricted cash is $300,000, cash floor $0; constant monthly flows exclude hiring, financing and one-time changes.

These invented records explain the method. They are not a recorded Proforma run.

Example input · synthetic records
ScenarioCash receipts / monthPayments / month
Base$50,000$80,000
Slower collections$40,000$80,000
Reduced spending$50,000$70,000

ScenarioNet burn / monthMonths to floorCash after 3 months
Base$30,00010$210,000
Slower collections$40,0007.5$180,000
Reduced spending$20,00015$240,000

Method

Net burn = payments − receipts. Constant-flow runway = (unrestricted cash − floor) / positive net burn. Monthly ending cash = opening cash − month × burn. Fractional months approximate continuous spending, not a dated bank forecast.

What the result tells you

Base burn is $30,000 per month. Slower collections shorten the estimate from 10 to 7.5 months; reduced spending extends it to 15. Replacing constant flows with dated commitments may change all three estimates.
